Green River Marathon - Jun 7 - Kent, WA
Scott Shupe, of Maple Ridge BC Canada, narrowly captured the 2014 Green River Marathon title. Shupe finished in 3:13:20, just ahead of Sean Celli, of Black Diamond WA, who was second in 3:13:42. Shupe had been fourth back in 2010. More recently he was third at the Birch Bay Marathon. 2011 winner Michael Brisbois, of Sammamish WA, took third in 3:15:48. Brisbois had also been fifth in 2013 and third in 2010. He also won the 2014 Woolley Marathon in February.
The women's race also saw a close finish. Elizabeth Simon, of Atlanta GA, finished in 3:37:08. Simon finished just four seconds ahead of Becci Walkling, of Kenmore WA - the runner-up in 3:37:12. Karlee Coble, of Seattle WA, rounded out the top finishers in 3:37:48.
